David Rich from Rich Services Presents Donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital

David Rich

Atlantic City- Cat Country 107.3 WPUR-FM hosted its Eighth Annual Country Cares for St. Jude Kids Radiothon on February 22-23 at the Hamilton Mall, raising over $146,000 and a total of over $1,000,000 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

The event featured non-stop music from Cat Country 107.3 WPUR-FM, touching appeals by St. Jude patients, parents and staff, celebrity endorsements from country music entertainers and client sponsorships.  Also in attendance was Cody, a St. Jude patient from Forked River diagnosed with Osteogenesis Imperfecta, whose condition has improved greatly since his first treatment at St. Jude in 1997.  Now twelve years old, Cody has improved by leaps and bounds and walked with braces for the first time over the summer.

St. Jude Hospital and Cat Country 107.3 would like to thank both volunteers and the local sponsors for making the Radiothon a success.  Local sponsors for the Radiothon were Sport Hyundai Dodge, East Coast Roofing & Siding, Trump Entertainment Resorts, Jersey Shore Pharmacy, Rainbow Pediatrics, Rich Services, Matt Blatt Suzuki, Atlantic Coast Mortgage, Bagliani’s Family Market, American Youth Enterprise and the Optical Room.
Cat Country Donation St. Jude
St. Jude Hospital sends a special thank you to the generous people of South Jersey who contributed to the Hospital’s mission through pledges and donations at the mall.  Monies raised by the two-day, 33-hour radiothon will go towards the research and treatment of childhood catastrophic diseases at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the largest childhood cancer research center in the United States.  No child has ever been turned away from St. Jude because of a family’s inability to pay.  In many instances, the Hospital pays for all treatment, transportation, food and lodging for the patient and the parent.

Daily expenses for the Hospital exceed $990,000 and the Hospital relies on contributions from the general public and events like the Cat Country 107.3 WPUR Country Cares for St. Jude Radiothon to sustain its life saving treatment.

Cat Country volunteers and staff collected funds through pledges called into the phone bank, donations from mall shoppers, Quest for a Million Pennies Live Cat Country broadcasts and from a silent auction held at the radiothon.
